Your Home: Please be aware we do our best to protect your home when providing a service. A few things we see often: Door seals not fully intact – When we clean or sand we use water and can spray the doors, it is recommended to put a towel near doors that are being worked around. Sometimes sands can get in the tracks of sliding doors, we do our best to clean this out.
The Terms and Conditions are provided to protect Sealer Pro LLC as a small business and protect our customers so that we can provide the best service possible and ensure your product lasts as long as our manufacturer specifications dictate. We have been trained by our manufacturer to use the products in accordance with specific recommendations. We do our best to communicate all precautions at the time of the estimate.
Water Accumulation: When there is inadequate drainage on a driveway, water tends to accumulate and pool in certain areas, particularly at the bottom or low-lying sections. This can happen due to improper grading, lack of proper drainage systems, or other factors. Dissolved Minerals: As the water sits and remains stagnant for extended periods, it starts to evaporate. During evaporation, the water leaves behind the minerals it contains, including calcium, which may have been dissolved in the water from various sources.Calcium Precipitation: As the water evaporates, the concentration of dissolved calcium increases. When the calcium concentration surpasses its saturation point, it can no longer remain dissolved in the water. As a result, the excess calcium precipitates out of the water, forming solid deposits. Paver Interaction: If the driveway has pavers or concrete blocks, the calcium-rich water can interact with the paver surfaces. The porous nature of the pavers allows water to seep through and come into contact with the calcium deposits on the underside of the pavers. Calcium Deposition: When the water carrying dissolved calcium reaches the bottom of the pavers, it can deposit the calcium ions onto the surface of the pavers. Over time, repeated cycles of water accumulation, evaporation, and calcium deposition lead to the buildup of calcium on the paver surfaces.
The formation of calcium buildup is a gradual process that occurs over time, with the accumulation being more pronounced in areas of poor drainage. It’s important to address the drainage issues to prevent further buildup and potential damage to the driveway or pavers. Regular cleaning and maintenance of the pavers can also help in managing and removing the calcium deposits.
Without addressing the drainage, it will come back.
16) Tinting/Staining Pavers – It is important to understand when tinting pavers we do our best to match the customer expectations of desired tint color. Doing a test area helps establish a baseline, however when tinting the pavers we cannot remove what was put down. Once the customer agrees to the test area colors of the tint, we are not responsible if the customer wants to change the color or does not like the color of the tint.
17) Sand Levels and Quality Assurance – At Sealer Pro LLC, we prioritize maintaining optimal sand levels throughout the project to align with the standards set by the Interlocking Concrete Paver Institute (ICPI). According to ICPI guidelines, sand levels should be maintained between 1/4 inch to 1/8 inch below the chamfer line to achieve the best aesthetic results. Adhering to this specification serves three primary purposes:
- Enhances the visual appeal of the pavers in three dimensions.
- Minimizes the risk of sand breakage at the chamfered edge.
- Prevents the formation of air pockets, thereby reducing the likelihood of weed and pest infiltration.
Additionally, maintaining appropriate sand levels contributes to the overall maneuverability of the paver system and aids in stabilizing joint sand.
While Sealer Pro LLC diligently strives to comply with these guidelines, variations in sand levels may occur in certain areas due to the inherent challenges presented by uneven paver surfaces. It is important to note that Sealer Pro LLC cannot be held responsible for discrepancies in sand levels across the entire project. Factors such as uneven pavers or the absence of edges may result in sand displacement.
Customers often misinterpret proper sand levels as being above the chamfered line, similar to tile and grout installations. This approach is NOT in accordance with established sanding procedures.
To ensure the highest quality results, Sealer Pro LLC employs a standard industry practice known as “wet sanding.” This method allows sand to penetrate deeper into the joints, effectively preventing air pockets and achieving the desired sand height.
While our objective is to significantly reduce weed growth—targeting an 80%-90% decrease—we cannot guarantee the complete elimination of weeds or the absence of pests in the sand joints following our sand and seal services.
